A glimpse into life while dealing with an autoimmune disease

Let food be thy medicine and

medicine be thy food.”

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at the ripe age of 23. Ulcerative Colitis, or long term inflammation of the colon. Blood tests, CAT scans, and prescription medications were all tossed my way without the blink of an eye. I was told I would be on prescription medication forever (I have been medication free for over a year), that my quality of life would deteriorate (I am happier and healthier now, more than ever before), and that there was no diet related cause —or cure— to my disease (pshhhhhh). Everyone’s story is different, but I hope my path to health and healing can inspire those who feel absolutely lost. I hope that this blog will help others approach the topics of disease and illness with a new perspective. My journey from disease, to doubt, to hope, has given me the strength to research and discover answers that my doctor was unable to give me, and now i’d like to share those findings with the people who need them most.

If you have questions about what I do and how I do it I would be more than happy to hear from you. Healing is a process, if you find yourself struggling I hope I can offer you support.
